The University of Atlanta is an exclusively online Accredited University, institutionally and programmatically accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC – nationally recognized, classified and sanctioned by the United States Department of Education and by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation - CHEA).

The University of Atlanta is located in Atlanta, Georgia USA- Atlanta is the capital and the largest city in the U.S. state of Georgia with a population of 519,145, and the core city of the ninth most populous United States metropolitan area at 5,278,904.

The University of Atlanta offers fields at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels. The University has been the beneficiary of signs of recognition: as the first and only US-based institution of higher education approved for membership in the European Association for Distance Learning (EADL); as an approved member of DANTES, which provides funding to servicemen in all branches of the American military; as an approved member of the United States Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the only body of the United Nations with a specific mandate in higher education.

The National Advisory Council

The National Advisory Council of the University (chaired by the University Provost and Executive Vice-President of Operations) is comprised of fifty (50) distinguished scholars, field specialists, acclaimed practitioners & consultants, whose authoritative command and expertise ensure curricular distinction in all degree programs offered, while continuing to buttress the university’s status in higher education.

Recently-Developed

A host of recently-developed initiatives (the founding of a new journal, Virtualities: International Review of Distance Learning – Library of Congress ISSN: 1941-7373, the inauguration of a new annual symposium series on Distance Learning, the naming of Provostial Fellows in recognition of outstanding achievement and promise, as but three of many examples) signal the breadth and scope of the university’s vision, its unwavering commitment to the high-pitched standards, to accelerated momentum as well as its resolve to offer programs of first-tier caliber via the most progressive and effective modes of delivery.
