Cyclists on top of Mount Drachenfels in the Palatinate Forest

The Mountainbikepark Pfälzerwald (Mountainbike Park in the Palatinate Forest) is a route network for Mountainbiking in the centre of the Biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest-Vosges du Nord opened in April 2005.

Routes

The signposted routes differ in the grade of challenge:

  • Route 1, starting at the station of Rodalben, 54 km, with 9,8 km single track,
  • Route 2, starting at the station of Waldfischbach-Burgalben, 48 km, with 6,8 km single track,
  • Route 3, starting at the station of Schopp, 67 km, with 9,7 km single track,
  • Route 4, starting at the station of Hochspeyer, 64 km, with 14,3 km single track,
  • Route 5, starting at the station of Lambrecht, 74 km, with 12,5 km single track.

Responsibility

The Tourism Board of the Palatinate Forest region, especially the municipalities of Kaiserslautern-Süd, Lambrecht, Rodalben, Waldfischbach-Burgalben and Hochspeyer, developed the project with the support of the regional forest commission and the University of Kaiserslautern.

The administration of the Mountainbikepark Pfälzerwald is situated at the Verbandsgemeinde Kaiserslautern-Süd.
