Orly Taitz is a California attorney and Orange County dentist who is active among people who doubt Barack Obama is eligible to be president of the United States.

She holds a Juris Doctor from William Howard Taft Law School in Santa Ana, California, a "Distance Learning" law school unaccredited by the American Bar Association.

Dr. Taitz represents nurse and Libertarian Party politician Gail Lightfoot in a case filed at the United States Supreme Court questioning Obama's eligibility. Dr. Taitz is also co-attorney, along with Gary Kreep, in a similar complaint filed by Alan Keyes in Sacramento Superior Court last November. That filing is scheduled for consideration in March 2009.[1]The Lightfoot complaint is docketed before the United States Supreme Court as Gail Lightfoot, et al., Applicants v. Debra Bowen, California Secretary of State. The plaintiffs seek to verify the eligibility of President-elect Barack Obama to assume the office of President of the United States. Their application was denied by Justice Anthony Kennedy on December 17. The application was refiled on December 29 and the Supreme Court is scheduled to dismiss or accept this application on January 23, 2009. [2].
