"Pokémon Theme"
Song

"Pokémon Theme" (also known as"Gotta Catch 'em All") is a song written by John Siegler and John Loeffler as the theme song for the first season of the TV anime Pokémon. The song, sung by Claudio Sanchez in the series[1], was played before each of the first 85 episodes of the Pokémon television series, after which a new song, entitled "Pokémon World," was recorded by Russell Velázquez.

A number of cover versions have been made, most notably by Billy Crawford, who recorded the song for the film, Pokémon: The First Movie. The Pokémon Theme was featured on several albums, most notably the soundtrack album Pokemon: The First Movie and Pokémon 2BA MASTER. Since its release, the song has been virtually synonymous with the Pokémon franchise, and as such remains popular among the fans of the original series.

Parodies

  • In 2006, the Internet comedy duo Smosh recorded a video for the song on YouTube. It became very popular and received over 61 million views before it was removed from the site because of a copyright claim.
