The cover of the US-released "Come Clean" single

"Come Clean" is a single by American singer Hilary Duff, the second from her 2003 debut album Metamorphosis. It was written by Kara DioGuardi and John Shanks, and the CD single was released in the United States on January 20, 2004 (see 2004 in music) by Festival Records. In this song, Duff proclaims that she is "coming clean", and pleads for the rain to "wash away my sanity".

After receiving solid airplay on MTV and Much Music, as well as substantial radio airplay, the single became one of Duff's most popular songs, peaking at thirty-five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (the highest position of any of her singles to date).

The single's music video was directed by Dave Meyers. In the video, Duff is shown in her house walking from room to room waiting for her boyfriend to come, who is stuck in the rain. While walking, her friends come over and watch television with her in her living room. At the end of the video, her boyfriend makes it to her house and she is shown hugging him in the rain.
