Dante 01 is a science fiction film by French director Marc Caro. It is the first solo directing effort by Caro, who is well-known for his directing collaborations with Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The film was released in 2008.

Plot

The film is a story about a prison facility space station Dante 01 which is used to experiment with "insane criminals" by psychiatric doctors. A new inmate, named 'Saint George' by resident prisoners, is the solo survivor of a convoy space ship that met disaster and has been convicted of its crew's murder.

Saint George demonstrates mysterious powers and, while it is unclear if he is aware of them, they influences a rebellion among the prisoners.[1][2]

We see the interaction between S.G. and the other prisoners during the movie, revealing different aspects of the life of the inmates.

The doctor that arrives with him is experimenting with a new treatment which she tries to implement as a new protocol for the "treatment" of these criminals.
