Roger Shah (also known as DJ Shah) is an electronic music producer in Germany.
Biography
Born in Esslingen, near Stuttgart in Germany. His birth name is Roger-Pierre Shah (also found on internet that he was born in Karachi, Pakistan. His real name being Raja-Pierre Shahnawaz, but birth name recorded as Roger-Pierre Shah)[citation needed]. Roger Shah has released multiple singles and albums under the following aliases: Roger Shah, Sunlounger, Dj Shah, Black pearl, Magic Island, High Noon at Salinas, Endless Blue, Magic Wave, Balearic Session, Purple Mood and Alongshore.
He started his career in 1996 and year after year he reaches the top 10 dance charts in Germany.
In 1999 he released his first solo single, the “claps” which went on the top 5 of all dance charts and got attention from the most importants DJs in Europe. He later released "Commandments" and "Riddim" both of which reached top 3 positions in all dance charts. His latest productions have been supported by Paul Van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, DJ Attaullah Esa and many more leading DJs of the scene.
In October 2005 he debuted on Tiesto's label Blackhole with 'Shah & Laruso pres. Global Experience'. After releasing various other tracks on multiple international 1st class labels such as Ministry Of Sound UK and Ultra Music USA, he reached #23 in UK's sales charts with the project Commander Tom.
Roger Shah is the only German producer who has collaborated with Tiesto’s compilation In Search of Sunrise 5 (ISOS5).
Later on he signed a deal with Armada for his solo single 'DJ Shah meets Jan Johnston - Beautiful (Glimpse Of Heaven)' as well as a second project 'Sunlounger'. It was under the latter that he released the “Another Day on The Terrace” album in 2007, which reached No.1 on Dutch iTunes’ ‘all-musicgenres’ chart.
Besides the follow up single of Global Experience, Black Hole also signed his project 'Savannah' for the world.
He collaborated with Armin van Buuren. Together they made the tune “Going Wrong” featuring the vocals of Chris Jones which entered the Dutch single chart at No. 5 in the first week, right after he performed the single live at 'Armin Only' 2008 which is Armin van Buuren’s solo concert.
Together with Pedro Del Mar he ran the German radio show "Mellomania"[1]. DJ Shah has released 14 double-CD compilations under the name Mellomania together with Pedro Del Mar up to date.
Roger Shah was recently named #58 on DJ Mag's list of the 2008 Top 100 DJs . He is currently ranked #33 on the Global DJ List.[2]
On December 18 2008, it was announced that Shah's single "Lost" won the title of A State of Trance Tune of the Year 2008. [3]
2008: 'Magic Island Records' - founded and owned by Roger-Pierre Shah will function as a sublabel of Armada Music (Armin van Buuren's Label). Magic Island Records will in the future release several upcoming productions and collaborations Roger is doing with a lot of his buddies from the international edm scene. As a solo artist 'Roger Shah' and also for his famous 'Sunlounger' project he is signed to Armada Music. Armada will take care of all activities as marketing, promotion, releasing and licencing.

'Magic Island - Music for Balearic People' RadioShow
Produced by Roger Shah, 'Magic Island - Music for Balearic People' is a weekly two-hour chill-out, balearic trance radioshow that airs on DI.FM. The show first aired on May 2, 2008. Trance and progressive house music are played in the first hour of the radioshow and chill-out Balearic music is played in the second hour.
