Proper Name

What is the real name of this pony? - Gotland Pony or Gotland Rus? Everywhere I have read it says that it's called the Gotland Rus. ɸSwannieɸ 19:39, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning of "russ"

According to my encyclopaedia, Nationalencyklopedin, "russ" simply means "horse" in the Gotland dialect. Because of the unclarity, I remove the sentence for now. // habj 19:50, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's in fact the same word as horse; both russ and horse come from Proto-Germanic *hrussa. / JiPe (81.235.131.216 (talk) 12:45, 15 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]
