Esther Ku is a Korean-American comic who is known for making fun of asian stereotypes.[1] Esther was chosen as one of the ten best comedians for the 2006 NBC Stand-up for Diversity Showcase in New York City. Esther has also been a featured regular performer in the Boston International Comedy Festival and the New York Underground Festival.
In 2008, Ku competed as a finalist on Last Comic Standing 6. She finished in eleventh place, she was among two of the earliest comedians to be eliminated in head to head battle during that season. Ku was nominated for battle by eventual winner Iliza Shlesinger , who then defeated Ku after Ku challenged Shlesinger. Shlesinger, along with several other members of the house, found Ku's laugh to be irritating and fake. Shlesinger released her opinion of Ku's laugh when she nominated Ku for elimination, after which the cameras showed Ku's eyes floating with tears.
