A former resident of Hastings, Mn., currently living in West St. Paul, Butenhoff was one of only 20 college students in the nation to receive the honor of being named to the All-USA team. He competed with nearly 1,450 students from 800 community colleges in 49 states and Guam nominated. John is currently in his final semester in Dakota County Technical College's Nanoscience Technology program, which takes place at the University of Minnesota. He co-designed Nanostudents.com with a classmate Jason Taylor.
