Deletion of Paul Kalkbrenner

I would like to ask for a review of the matter. Your reason was: "A7: Article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject." As I indicated, he also appears as the main character in the film Berlin Calling, which got a lot of attention in Germany. And the film is not a documentary about him, he plays a fictional character. Thank you. Escalonab (talk) 22:51, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Treasure Hunt

Dear Vianello,

While I appreciate that this may sound like a joke, it is a serious compition. There are three (currently anonymous) sponsers who are putting up $16,666 each. I have been asked to do all the setting up and creating of the treasure hunt and clues. It is our hope that we can get some media coverage of it , at which point the compitions sponsers will reveal themselves an get some advertising. However, all three were soncerned about the possibilty of negative coverage, so don't want to be known at this time.

You also pointed out that you don't think it is an appropriate use of space, but I would point out that should there be any media coverge, Wikipeidia would also get a fair amount of free advertising.

By deleting it, not only are you stopping these tthings, but you will also stop somebody becoming $50,000 richer, and a lot of people having fun. The compition be banned from Wikipedia, I'm sure some other website would accept it, and Wikipeidia would end up with a lot of negative publicity for not allowing it. While it may come to this, Wikipedia was the website of choice due to it's large fanbase and popularity

I will remind you that should you delete it, you will not be eligable for the prize. I wish you good luck and happy hunting - plus you are probably one of the first people to find the first clue, thus can get a good headstart on it.

Please reconsider,

Yours sincerly,

--DoodleHammer (talk) 06:33, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I got a similar note on my talk page. I left a note about this alleged treasure hunt at WP:ANI. Because I am not sure that any of this person's edits are aimed at improving Wikipedia rather than writing more clues to this hunt, I have systematically reverted them. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 11:57, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like you to revisit your decision to delete Smallbox CMS

Hello, while I understand why you may have thought the page in question, Smallbox CMS may have appeared to be spam, it isn't. I must admit that I built the page as a live page, instead of in my sandbox and this is my error. My intent was to get input from a range of editors on the page, and what you saw was the rough framework for the page. It has since been written in a compliant style. I have updated the page for review and ask you to undo your action. Kind regards. Shawnerbee (talk) 00:18, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you deleted FreeOrion article for no reason

Explain your behavior please! You deleted all my work, that's just wrong. The article was new (unrelated with the previous versions) and written by me and was an accurate and detailed, up to wikipedia standards of the open-sourced game. Please undo your action or point me to someone who has the authority to do so. I’m outraged by the lack of respect for someone’s work that you showed. Peer-LAN (talk) 10:31, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for considering my message and undoing your action. I will work on improving the article even further.Peer-LAN (talk) 10:52, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RFA

You have my strongest support in your RFA. Good luck and even if you fail, keep up the good work. Cheers!Kingrock 05:38, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Same here - I am quite certain your rfa will pass but, even if it doesn't, definitely keep up the excellent work!!! Regards, Fastily (talk) 06:02, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

actually....

That question is related to a number of different IfD and DrVs. You might want to look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Non-free_content#Unacceptable_use #12 and see if your opinion changes. That's probably the core of the question. Good luck! I generally wait to !vote until I see a mass of people you know you !vote... Hobit (talk) 05:49, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your Request for Adminship

Dear Vianello,

I have closed your recent RfA as successful per the consensus of the community. Congratulations, you are now a sysop! Please make sure you're aware of the Administrators' how-to guide and are aware of the items on the Administrators' reading list. Finally, please don't hesitate in contacting me if you need anything. Best of luck in your new position! —Anonymous DissidentTalk 02:51, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here's your free T-shirt! Cunard (talk) 22:43, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats! I knew you'd pass. Best of luck with the mop! Cunard (talk) 22:43, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chi-Wang Shu

It seems you have acted in haste in PRODing the Chi-Wang Shu, apparently without reading it. At the time of tagging, the lead clearly mentions him as the 'Named University Professor'. I have deproded it now. If you have any further concerns feel free to take it to afd. Salih (talk) 09:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats on becoming an Admin. Best of Luck! Salih (talk)

Could you help redirect Metapedia to Matapédia?

Metapedia is deleted and salted as a non-notable website. I think it should be redirected to Matapédia, a river in Quebec and related things. Metapedia appears to be an alternative spelling, perhaps old. I tried putting {{editprotected}} on the talk page, but you deleted it as G8: Page dependent on a deleted or nonexistent page --Apoc2400 (talk) 21:00, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I don't know what the proper way to request creation of a salted article is. Perhaps I should have requested unprotection first. Well, this worked too. --Apoc2400 (talk) 21:31, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock

I've unblocked Cmdrchode (talk · contribs), hope that's ok. PhilKnight (talk) 12:08, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, Vianello - I can't fault your motives, so there wasn't any reason to take it personally. I probably would have done the same.

Don't mention it - we're all trying to do right by Wikipedia... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmdrchode (talkcontribs) 16:39, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikia

Hi, are you "Vianello" on Wikia, as someone signed up there with this name saying that he was an enwiki admin. Thanks. GT5162 (我的对话页) 11:54, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I have noticed the reason why "Vianallo" was promoted after your RfA. See my comments on User_talk:Anonymous_Dissident#Hiya_and_thanks.21. GT5162 (我的对话页) 16:56, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, I don't use Wikia at all. If they're an admin here, it's under another name. The "Vianallo" admin promotion was just a typo/slip-up on my promoter's part to my knowledge. It was set straight when I cleared my throat a little. I checked out your comment on that. Weird, I must say. And a little suspicious. Not on Anonymous Dissident's part, I mean, but the other user's, if it wasn't just a side-effect of AD promoting a nonexistent user or something. I've provided further comment on the talk section you linked to. - Vianello (Talk) 01:19, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I checked what that user said on Wikia and he's definitely pretending to be you. I've blocked and reported him. GT5162 (我的对话页) 09:54, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
