Nicky Spence is a Scottish opera singer. Spence is a tenor.

Early years

Nicky Spence's biography on his website states that he, "started life in Dumfries in 1983, and although struggling from a broken home, he thrived in life with a huge love of performing and working in his local chippy to earn money to pay for his singing lessons."

Musical career

Nicky Spence's debut album 'My First Love', which was recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed with Placido Domingo and Dame Kiri te Kanawa. Spence has toured extensively with the likes of Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra, Lesley Garrett and he even joined Dame Shirley Bassey.[1]

Away from music

Nicky Spence is a fan of Dumfries based footbal club, Queen of the South F.C.[2]

Spence is a patron of Help the Aged and has been selected as a young spokesperson against violence in the home by the Scottish Government.[3]
