Bighorn/Sherwood

These events and exhibitions were of ABC Sports and Tiger Woods dual creation from 1999 to 2005. The first event was called the Showdown at Sherwood and the next three were called the Battle at Bighorn. The last three were known at the Battle of the Bridges.

1999 Showdown at Sherwood

This match was played between Tiger Woods and David Duval in 1999 at Sherwood Country Club. This event was won by Tiger Woods 2&1.[1]

2000 Battle at Bighorn

This event was played at Bighorn Golf Club in Indigo, California on August 28, 2000 between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia. This event was won by Garcia 1UP.[2]

2001 Battle at Bighorn

This event was between two teams of golfers one man and woman. The pairing were Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam, and David Duval and Karrie Webb. The match was won in 19 holes by Woods/Sorenstam.[3]

2002 Battle at Bighorn

This was an event played between one regular tour and one senior tour golfer in 2002. The teams were Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus versus Sergio Garcia and Lee Trevino, which was won by Woods/Nicklaus 3&2.[4]

2003 Battle at the Bridges

This was a match between two teams of PGA Tour golfers. This match took place on July 28, 2003 in Rancho Santa Fe, California at Bridges Golf Course and pitted Tiger Woods and Ernie Els against Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia. Garcia/Mickelson won this match 2UP with 2 to play with birdee from Garcia on the 16th hole.[5]

2004 Battle at the Bridges

This event was played on August 2, 2004, and was played between the teams of Tiger Woods and Hank Kuehne versus Phil Mickelson and John Daly. This match was looking good for Daly/Mickelson who were two up thru 12 holes, but the pairing of Woods/Kuehne made four straight birdees on the next four subsequent holes to take a 2UP lead and win the match.[6]

2005 Battle at the Bridges

This was a match between Tiger Woods and John Daly playing against Phil Mickelson and Retief Goosen, which was won on July 25, 2005 by Goosen/Mickelson 5&3.[7]
