Eoljjang also spelled as Uljjang or ulzzang is a popular South Korean term literally meaning, "best face," or "good-looking." A slang often used by netizens, contests competing for the title of uljjang are held online. Many uljjangs have entered the Korean entertainment business, and some have risen to stardom.[1] [2]

Characteristics

All uljjangs share similar features such as big eyes (as in doll eyes), small nose, fair skin, etc. Circle lenses are known to be popular with most uljjangs.

Famous uljjangs

Some teenage uljjangs grew famous because of their looks, and became part of the Korean pop culture. Some of the successful uljjang stars include Gu Hye-seon, Nam Sang-mi, Park Han-byul, Kang Eun-bi[2] , and Kim Hye Sung.
