Joe Maross

Joe Maross (born February 7, 1923 in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania) is an American actor who appeared in movies and made guest appearances on many television series from the 1950's to the 1980's. He served in World War II and was station in Hawaii.

Among the movies he appeared in were Run Silent, Run Deep and Elmer Gantry. The many television series he guest-starred in included Mission: Impossible, The Fugitive, The Outer Limits, The Invaders, Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, The Virginian, Twelve O'Clock High, The Time Tunnel (where he portrayed George Armstrong Custer in an episode), Hawaii Five-O, Mannix, The Rockford Files, and The Twilight Zone, where he appeared in the episodes "Third from the Sun", and "The Little People".

He is a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He is a reputed to be an enthusiastic screener of the DVDs which studios send to Academy members for award consideration.
