Kid Rad is the recording name of the eighteen year old British music artist Ross Dorrance. He currently releases music on the Occupy Your Mind and Native Records recording labels.

His musical style is highly eclectic and is best described as a blend of Hip Hop, Electronica, House and DnB.

Biographical Information

Kid Rad first started experimenting with music in his early teens, and it wasn't long before he started producing and recording songs on a small set up in his bedroom. By pure chance, these tracks were heard by a local record producer and label owner by the name of Peter 'Lunatrix' Jordan, who immediately signed him to his label, Occupy Your Mind records, on a development deal. [1]

His first big break came in 2005 when he appeared live on HHB Radio alongside famed UK hip hop act N Dubz. He impressed both the listeners on the show and also the group's management at the time, and former Mungo Jerry bassist, the late Byron Contostavlos.

Over the next two years, Kid Rad continued to develop his talent and began to incorporate other styles of music into his work. He released various singles with varying success, the biggest of which, Signs, became popular within the UK grime scene and was featured on the internationally released compilation album UK State Of Mind. Disturbing The Sequence

In 2007, Kid Rad started working on his debut album, Disturbing The Sequence. The title was given to the project by the record's executive producer Peter 'Lunatrix' Jordan.

In December, 2008, Kid Rad revealed on his Myspace that the album will be a blend of Hip Hop, Electronica, House and Drum and Bass, and that he had recently recorded collaborations with the likes of Just Jack, Masta Ace and Shade Sheist for the project, yet this was still to be confirmed.

In 2009, in an interview with Rago Magazine, one half of Kid Rad's managment stated that the record would be released via Native Records and Universal Music [3], however Kid Rad has recently hinted that the album will be an independent release via Occupy Your Mind records.

As of yet no release date or label information has been confirmed by either Kid Rad or any of the collaborators on the album.

Across These Walls feat Just Jack

In February 2009, the first single from the album was leaked onto the internet. A lo-fi remix of the track, which features British singer / songwriter sensation Just Jack, was swiftly uploaded onto Kid Rad's Myspace page.

Since being leaked, the song has recieved heavy airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6music and various BBC Introducing shows. Kid Rad has also been invited to perform the track as part of his live set on BBC Radio 2, which will take place on the 22nd May 2009.

An official release date for the single is yet to be confirmed.
