Trinity High School (Louisville)
Trinity High School, a high school in Louisville, Kentucky, first opened its doors in 1953, when Archbishop John Floersh anticipated the growth of Louisville's eastern suburbs by choosing the site of Holy Trinity School, a former Catholic church and grade school in St. Matthews, Kentucky. The school incorporates the Catholic tradition of teaching and learning. The school campus contains 1,440 students. Trinity has been awarded the award of excellence for schools and is nationally recognized.
Campus
The Trinity High Schools has ten houses which include: Aquinas, Beckett, Dante, Flannon, Gonzaga, Merton, Patrick Romero, Seton, and Toussaint.
Sports
Trinity's nickname is the Shamrocks and their most fiercest rival is the St. Xavier Tigers. Every September, the last Friday, Trinity and St. Xavier meet at University of Louisville's Papa John Cardinal Stadium for a show down game, about 35,000 fans come to the game.
The week leading up there is a pep rally at each school and it is a big build up. It is one of the biggest high school rivalries and games in the country and in the past ESPN's Sportscenter has shown highlights of this big game. Since Trinity and St. Xavier are such big rivals, every game they play in any sport is big and based off of their football rivalry.
