Mental illness?

209.244.187.116 has twice added "fictional characters with mental illness" to this page, could you explain which mental illness you think he has? You also removed "fictional sadists" and "fictional sociopaths", why? (I don't think either is necessarily a mental illness) Hypnosifl 21:22, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mental illness

Why is it that whenever I put in the Category "Fictional characters with mental illness" someone removes it? It is more than obvious that he has it.

In the episode "Going Nowhere Fast" seems negaDuck for the first time to perform, it follows even a greeting formula: "I am the quitschie-Ditschie-man of the gun-man, I am the souer ball of the crime of goodness, I am NegaDuck ". In this episode due to aging DarkWing super fast speed and NedaDuck sends him derision from a rocking chair (which proved that he knows his place of residence). I am absolutely sure that this is the first NegaDuck follow-up. Capital D

Look, I've seen practically all Disney production material on Darkwing Duck and nowhere have I ever seen the name spelled NegaDuck. It's always been Negaduck with a lower case d, unless all letter were capitalized. So why is this page any different? Sarujo 11:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mental Illness Again

Look, there has never been any instant in the series where he was diagnosed with any mental illness by a licensed medical or psychological professionals. If anybody did, they were not certified to set it in stone in the story's canon. Just because some Johnny come lately make a descriptive remark on someone doesn't make it official. He is Darkwing's evil opposite from another dimension, therefore his actions and mental prowess is, in a sense, normal. So why can't it just be ruled out that he's evil just for the sake evil. The fact that he's trying to be revered as the single most despised person clearly show an opposite worldly logic. And not any brain real defect. Sarujo (talk) 16:10, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parody and Debut

Is it possible that Negaduck is a parody of Owlman? Since Darkwing Duck is a parody of Batman and Owlman is Batman's 'evil twin' form an alternate dimension---both Owlman and Negaduck share the facts that they're evil twins of the heroes from the show and are inhailed from dimensions when good and evil are completely opposite.

I also notice that Negaduck has a personality similiar to Carnage from Spider-Man (both are psychopaths with the intention of causing massive destructions), although the resemblances ends there.

I was watching the episode called "Going Nowhere Fast", and I couldn't help but notice that both Darkwing Duck and Negaduck had acted as if it was their first confrontation. Just to add to the discussion, the DSM-IV does class psychopathy renamed as antisocial personality disorder and borderline personality discorders as mental illnesses and it would seem that although never formally diagnosed with such in the Darkwing Cartoons, that Negaduck by his behaviour and attitudes amongst other things HAS one of those diagnosable mental illness conditions. He is not however legally insane though since the legal definaitions of insanity are different from the criteria of diagnoses in the DSM-IV. Does anyone else concur?
