Tributyltin hydride (Bu3SnH) is an organotin compound. It is a useful reagent in organic synthesis. Combined with azobisisobutylonitrile or by irradiation with light, tributyltin hydride cleaves to form the tributyltin radical (Bu3Sn'), which reacts with (an organic) substrate by substitution of a halogen atom for a hydrogen atom in a chain reaction.[1]
