This should be another nail in the coffin. Check his talk page history, I tried a couple times, politely even, to explain this. It's probably time for a button flex, before anythign gets worse. I'm warning him for 3RR now. ThuranX (talk) 01:40, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
May I suggest taking this to AN/I for a block? You'd be considered an involved party now, but given that he's engaged in NPA vios against you and I, skirted 3RR, blanked all warnings while continuing to edit war against consensus, it shouldn't be hard to get a 24-48 hour block put in place. ThuranX (talk) 21:57, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I left a note elsewhere for a send set of eyes to take a look. I want to give that a chance first before taking all of this to AN/I. Especially since he seems to have gotten his head on straight with the image he's uploading now. - J Greb (talk) 22:01, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Our friend is back now as User:V for Venganza. Time for a SPI, I think. ThuranX (talk) 20:24, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Your comments were more thorough than my initial report. Nice work. ThuranX (talk) 11:07, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Marimaki - looks perfect to me, but I would add him to the case, jsut to be sure. Not as a 'check him please' but as a listing of another instance. ThuranX (talk) 17:36, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Henshaw

You know how Sandifer said "Why not cut the baby in half and go with a face shot that has no uniform visible?" (though I do want to add that my problem with using the Sinestro Corps cover in the infobox wasn't so much that Henshaw was in a different outfit as it was the fact he was posing with Kent's glasses on, which isn't how he usually looks).

Well, what do you think of one these images?

The short problem?
A mugshot is next to useless for the purposes of an infobox. And there is still the nagging issues of redundancy and significantly helping understanding. Being used in the infobox isn't a shield from those.
The full body shots fulfill the "significantly helping understanding" criteria better than the mugshots. It's part of the reason the project level MoS is what it is - "This is what the character looks like" the whole character.
And with the 4 "costume" looks in the article, the mugshot becomes redundant - "The character's head looks like this, just like in the other images."
So... we're stuck with using the minimum number of images to show the basic look of the character best. Right now, the 5 images in the article cover that. (Side: The 2 between "Reign" and "Sinestro" may be overkill.) Any more and we exceed what's reasonable. And since there has been trouble agreeing to which of the "Reign" and "Sinestro" images are the more recognizable/classic/iconic, we're left with no infobox image but enough images in use to not really need it.

Black Night

#1 is the real first issue. #0 was just a free promo. Plus, #1 better represents the series and what it's about, with the skull and all the black power rings. #0 just shows Hal and the different corps.

I don't plan on continually updating the infobox by adding the cover #2 when #2 comes out, and so on. --DrBat (talk) 13:23, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Madelyne Pryor

Could you try protecting that article? An anon-user keeps on trying to reinsert the Land image. --DrBat (talk) 00:41, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Kirby

Hey there. In case you weren't aware, I nominated Jack Kirby for "Good Article" despite some issues we knew it had; we figured we'd take a chance and see if we're able to fix it up on the go. The review has just started, and the reviewer has identified a number of trouble spots in need of work. We may not be able to fix it up enough to get it to GA at this time, but I think this would be a great opportunity to put some work into improving the article in general. See the reviewer's comments and fix anything you can, or just have a look at the article and work on anything you can identify yourself. Thanks, and thanks for what you've already done on this one. :) BOZ (talk) 23:21, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Art?

In the Giganta article, why have you removed the art I created myself, based on the Justice League art, and replaced it with art ripped-off directly from the same show? You seem to then have removed other art that was similar to what you added, or am I missing something? My image shows only the character in full, drawn by me, making it both more illustrative, and less infringing than what you replaced it with. Please clarify this. Thanks. Steaphan Greene (talk) 02:08, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info, I now understand why you did that. First, let me clarify what I said above. I in no way claim to be the original creator of this art. These are composites of screen-shots, with very little creativity on my part involved (basically digital tracings). The point I was trying to make was that I took less from the original source (via fair use) than the other images. This image is also an SVG, and has no real resolution. In terms of data points, it has far fewer than the captured images, and reproduces only the needed material, without also including other unrelated copyrighted materials. Thus, I think these are more appropriate than the screen-shots for encyclopedia articles' fair-use images. Am I wrong?
I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just want to understand this, and you seem to have a better grasp on this stuff than I do. Thanks. Steaphan Greene (talk) 03:05, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hi, you can see Nlu's talk page for more information on this, but he hasn't been on much lately, so I'm coming to you since he hasn't been able to take action. Can you please delete my user page, talk page (and archives), and my awards page. I want everything that can possibly be removed, removed. I really can't be on wikipedia any more, and this is going to drive me crazy if you don't erase the stuff soon. Like I'm asking this as a favor, and I'm giving you full 100% permission to do this. I know I have been a pretty good editor in the past, but I can't return to this, and I really need you to do this for me. Thank you so much. I really just want this done so I can forget about Wikipedia and move on. Thank you. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 16:57, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hrm...
I've looked over your post to Nlu, and it sounds like you're looking to vanish. That's something that I believe has to be handled by a Bureaucrat, not an Admin.
I've passed your request along to Rlevse, though I'm not sure what the time lag is going to be.
- J Greb (talk) 22:31, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And it's been passed back...
Joe, please read through Wikipedia:Right to vanish and make sure you've covered all the steps it indicates. Then you're going to have to ask yourself some hard questions, including:
  • "Do you want to be left the option to come back?"
  • "Do you want you account indefinitely blocked?"
_ J Greb (talk) 00:18, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 15:22, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok J Greb. I believe I did all the steps I need to. If I havn't let me know. But bottom line, I really don't want to come back. I may want to in the future, but anything you can do to prevent me from doing so is greatly appreciated. Blocking my account indefinitely, deleting all my personal pages (i.e. user page, talk pages, award page), changing my username to something else, anything. The reason for all of this, is because Wikipedia was really starting to interfere with school, and my relationship, etc. As much as I may want to come back one day, I really want to stop myself from being able to. I don't want this to run my life anymore. So Anything you or anyone else can do is greatly appreciated. And by the way, I truly respect how you are helping me out, just so you know. I will be on later, to see how you reply, to find out how I can finish off this process, if it is not already done. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 20:25, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
