Punta del Diablo coast

Punta del Diablo is a locality in Uruguay, Rocha Department, 298 km east from the capital Montevideo.

Originally a small fishing village, Punta del Diablo developed recently into a beach resort, attracting mostly Argentinean, Brazilian and European tourists.[1] The resort revolves around the two seasons, during summer growing into a party hub with an affluence of visitors, while in winter it caters for tourists seeking a laid-back, off-the-map fishing village.

Its beaches marked by the three rocky points, the "trident", cover around 10 km of coast. The locality is also close to the National Parks Santa Teresa and San Miguel.

The permanent population is about 650 inhabitants, mostly fishermen and artisans.
