"Cria" doesnt mean "to give birth". "cria" means "raising" (for example: the raising of genetically enginered llamas = la cría de llamas geneticamente mejoradas), criar, "to rise", and "cria" also refers to the recently born status of some animals that doesnt have a different name for the baby (in spanish), like crocrodile hatchlings (so, the rest of the article is correct, but not that particular sentence).
