Naomi Clark is a fictional character on the The CW primetime drama 90210, the fourth series of the Beverly Hills, 90210 franchise. She is portrayed by AnnaLynne McCord. Introduced in the pilot episode, the character is presented as a privileged girl with many underlying layers. Though she is not officially labeled as such, various media outlets have cited Naomi as the series' lead.[2][3]

90210

Season 1

Naomi Clark is often compared to Kelly Taylor of Beverly Hills, 90210.

Naomi is introduced as a rich girl who attends West Beverly Hills High School. Initially, she appears to be selfish and shallow, but throughout the series her character develops. At the beginning of the show, she believes herself to have a stable bond with her longtime boyfriend Ethan Ward. However, their relationship soon encounters many problems which eventually cause them to break up for good. She starts to become good friends with Annie Wilson, but says that Annie won't be able to go out with Ethan if they are going to be friends. Annie's dismissal of this statement leads to a rift in their friendship.

Several of Naomi's issues parallel those of Kelly Taylor from the original series.[4] Early on in the show, she values her "in-crowd" status and experiences repeated friction with Annie over a boy, similar to the quarrels between Kelly and her friend Brenda Walsh. Also like Kelly, Naomi endures a family torn apart by adultery, and is later faced with the matter of an absent parent. When her mother and father separate, she continually tries to encourage them to reconcile, though they eventually divorce. Afterwards, her mother leaves town, and Naomi seeks temporary refuge in a hotel.

Later, Naomi becomes attracted to a bartender named Liam in the hotel that she stayed at and sent him a bottle of champagne when she mistakenly assumed that he was older. Naomi discovers that the bartender was actually her age and working without his mother's knowledge, and she inadvertently blew his cover, getting him sent to West Beverly Hills High School. Naomi then begins having erotic dreams about Liam. Naomi and Liam have a strained relationship at first, with him blaming her for getting him sent to school, but they start to get to know each other when Naomi agrees to become Liam's math tutor. He takes her to a drag race, and when she is forcefully hit on by a street racer and Liam punches the racer and destroys his car. He then takes Naomi back to school, where they kiss in his car for the first time. Later on, however, Liam begins keeping her at a distance, appearing to only be interested in a physical relationship. During the prom, he reluctantly reveals his honest feelings to her and states that he really does like her. At Naomi's after-party, Jen, her sister, seduces Liam to get back at Naomi for disobeying her, because Jen didn't give Naomi approval for arranging the party at the house. Naomi catches the aftermath (sans Jen) and finds Annie's wrap with Liam, causing her to publicly accuse Annie of sleeping with Liam. She is last shown being comforted by Jen after finding out about Annie and Liam's "betrayal", while police sirens are heard in the background due to Annie calling the police to inform them of underage drinking.

Season 2

Naomi will return in Season 2 of the series.
