Welcome to my user talk page!

Please do all of the following:
  • Always link to the text, image, or edit you want to discuss. When linking to an image, use a colon. For example, "[[:Image:Example.jpg]]" produces "Image:Example.jpg".
  • Don't forget to provide a proper Edit Summary for each and every edit, and a proper signature for each and every post to a talk page or notice board. I may revert edits that do not have such features, rather than respond to them.
  • Reply to interactive messages at the location of the original topic to not scatter talk all around, fracturing the discussion. I do have nearly all pages I have posted to recently on my Watchlist. If I missed a comment, please use {{Talkback}} to drop me a short reminder with a link here.
  • Respect my babel boxes.
  • If you're copying files from another project to Wikimedia Commons, be sure to use the CommonsHelper.
  • If your text or image is lacking source, license, or permission, fix that instead of asking here what is wrong. There should be a message on your talk page explaining things in detail. Apologies for having to be so clear if this message is not related to the matter you would like to address.
  • Post here if you want to reach me, or reply to a post below via the edit link above that post.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Sea Shepherd

Oddly enough, the same United States that allows Sea Shepherd to operate as a tax-exempt environmental group identifies them as ecoterrorists. — NRen2k5(TALK), 09:49, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is that info from a reliable source? Can we verify it? Thanks!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:32, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Road Runner (ISP) Logo With Character Cropped.PNG)

Thanks for uploading File:Road Runner (ISP) Logo With Character Cropped.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:09, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the notice. I have reversed the vandalism that orphaned it.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 19:57, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with user

I did not think that I was personally attacking this person http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User%3aAvery_player2011?diff=298232921. I was just very frustrated with the fact that they are lying on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deford,_Michigan. They do not seem to be willing to listen to what I have to say and are repeatedly changing the page back to the way it was, with lies in tact. What do I do then? Do you normally allow articles with lies?

Michael herc (talk) 00:39, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That user has been reported to WP:AIV and then blocked. AIV reports are removed when they are dealt with. Please see this edit for details.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:54, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Jeff, Michael's edits appear legit; the blocked editor's appear less so. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 21:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I was not impressed with the incivility on User:Avery player2011.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:10, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with User

The edits done by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User%3aAvery_player2011?diff=298232921 were fully true but the page did list many real facts that Michael herc has deleted or has listed as not true. I have read his comment on Avery_player2011 and his reasons on the edits he made were completely wrong. I did not think that I was personally attacking this person http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Michael_herc. I was just very frustrated with the fact that they are lying on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deford,_Michigan. They do not seem to be willing to listen to what I have to say and are repeatedly changing the page back to the way it was, with lies in tact. Their page is not researched and in some areas, completely wrong. Isn't Wikipedia's mission about providing free -REAL FACTS- to the public? What do I do then? Do you normally allow articles with lies? Could you block a person from a page? Please Reply!

Do you know Avery_player2011 or Michael herc? You all seem to live in the same area.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:31, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do not live close enough to either since both seem to live in Deford, MI. I live in Marlette. Bernette 03:33, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

I requested an account on the ACC account creation interface.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 11:35, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your deleting skills

i agree that if one deletes or adds content of an article or of a page then the reason should be provided for such edit. However, you activities seem also like a person who does not understand a topic but wants to seek creative attention as you did many times on the page "copulative verb". The information i placed was the important information to understand the basic linguistics. The rest of the information is non-linguistics but interesting. The page "copula" also a good page, but has been vandalized by few whose artistic side of minds also slightly of art of graffiti.

However, some of your information that you noted in finding edit errors are very useful.

The sole contact I can find between us was when you blanked redirect Copulative verbs[1] and I reverted you[2] and warned you[3], all on 10 May 2009 (UTC, some six weeks ago). I have never edited the page "copulative verb".   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:56, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kaka edits

Hey Jeff, I saw your message. I still do not understand how listing Kaka as an attacking midfielder and a play maker is considered vandalism. That is his playing position in both Club and Country.

Thanks,

Numba1xclusive (talk) 16:22, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I consider "play maker" in sense 2 at wikt:play_maker#English to be a peacock term, which needs to be backed up with a solid verifiable and reliable source.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 17:46, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=658348&sec=europe&cc=5901.

Paragraph 6. "The 27-year-old playmaker will wear the number eight shirt."

Is that a good enough source?
