Orthodox in Christianity may refer to:

  • Correct belief as defined by a given Christian tradition, often refering to Trinitarian, ancient, and/or creedal theology
  • Eastern Christianity, referring collectively to the Eastern Christian churches and their religious traditions
  • Eastern Orthodoxy, the Ancient communion of Eastern Christian Churches, historically of eastern Europe and parts of Asia, that recognize the Council of Chalcedon and the other the first seven ecumenical councils
  • Lutheran Orthodoxy, the early form of Lutheranism, prior to the Age of Enlightenment.
  • Oriental Orthodoxy, the smaller communion of Eastern Christian Churches that recognize only the first three ecumenical councils, and reject the dogmatic definitions of the Council of Chalcedon

Other meanings of Orthodox include:

  • Orthodox stance, in boxing, the designation for the normal stance for a right-handed boxer or Mixed Martial Arts combatant.
  • Orthodox seed, a seed which may be preserved via drying or freezing.
