Veer is a 2009 Hindi film directed by Anil Sharma, and starring Salman Khan and Jackie Shroff . The film was also written by Salman Khan. [1]

Plot

Very few details on the plot have been released. However, the directer has said "Veer is a period film with an epic feel. It's set in 1880, the shooting should start around the middle of the year. It's a big film being produced by Eros, there are so many details to be ironed out first," [2] However, there has been speculation that Khan will be playing a warrior of some type. also Salman Khan plays a triple role, one as a chachi 420, and one as the Shahenshah of India.

Cast

  • Salman Khan: To fit the role of a warrior, Khan increased his weight one and a half times. He playing a role much similar to robinhood. He is playing a role of King Manvendra Singh[3]. He has been given 30 crores for this film.
  • Jackie Shroff: He has confirmed that he will play the villain in the movie.
  • Sohail Khan: He is a supporting warrior of Salman Khan.
  • Mithun Chakraborty: He is Salman & Sohail's grandfather in the film. [4]
  • Asif Hussain: Jay
  • Khurram Tejrar : Extra with golden ponytail/mullet

Adaption

Nikolai Gogol who wrote Taras Bulba, the book on which Veer is based.

Controversy

The Rajasthan High court banned the film due to one of the walls at the Amber Fort collaping and injuring 15 people. However, the ban was lifted a week later, with the producers having to pay 20 lakh for damaging the wall. [5]
