Can Return to Oz and Wicked really be considered unofficial sequels?

The Oz series has been public domain for some time. Plus, Disney asked and paid for the rights to use the movie series' exclusive ruby slippers from MGM, so at the very least Return to Oz did obtain some copyright consent. 208.101.161.75 (talk) 20:56, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
