Athertonia diversifolia, Atherton almond, is a small to medium sized rainforest tree of northern Queensland, Australia. It is endemic to the Atherton Tablelands where it is widespread.[1]

Leaves are variable in shape, lobed or entire, 12-20 cm long and 5-9 cm wide. Flowers are brown colored and borne on 20-30 cm long racemes. The lens shaped fruit is 3cm long, blue, containing a woody nut with a large edible kernal.

Uses

Atherton almond is cultivated to a limited extent for its edible nut.
