Gayo is a tribe living in the heights in Aceh Province, Indonesia. They live in 3 regencies: Central Aceh, Bener Meriah and Gayo Lues regencies. They also live in several subdistricts in other regencies, such as Serba Jadi Subdistrict in East Aceh Regency and Beutong Subdistrict in Nagan Raya Regency.

The Gayos are known for their adherence to Islam.
