School History
West Mifflin High School, located on Commonwealth Avenue in West Mifflin Boro, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania was built in 1956. Renovations to the structure began in 1998 and was completed in 2001. By Commonwealth Orders, students from the nearby Duquesne City's School District in 2007 attended West Mifflin Area HS or East Allegheny Area High School. West Mifflin Area High School serves all the students in the West Mifflin Area School District, which serves students in West Mifflin and Whitaker Boroughs. The building is over 255,000 square feet in size. Also on the campus, a baseball field, softball field, football stadium, tennis courts, and eleven practice fields are present, along with a cross country course. West Mifflin's Area's band is consistently one of the best and biggest bands in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
