Criminon

Criminon is a group directed at rehabilitating prisoners. Criminon is a subsidiary of the Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE.)

According to a 29 May 2005 report in the Los Angeles Times, the program has used correspondence materials to treat hundred of prisoners at the high security California State Prison, Corcoran, beginning in [[1990]

The program includes courses with questions requiring written answers. The responses are evaluated by volunteers from all faiths icluding Scientologists.The materials are also donated, so the program is provided free to the state.Hubbard's 1981 booklet, The Way to Happiness is a common sense guide to better living and over 40 million copies have been distributed.

As Criminon's Web site notes, the core of the prison program is the booklet, The Way to Happiness, which is used along with other life skills courses to restore the self respect of the criminal and give them the neccessary skills needed to make it as a productive and ethical citizen. Criminon actively delivers course to over 8000 prisoners weekly in 17 countries around the world.
