Larry Richard Williams, the commodity trader/author, was born in Miles City Montana, October 6, 1942. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Oregon, 1964, and is one of their notable alums. (1) He is the author of 9 books; 1. The Secret of Selecting Stocks 2. How I Made $1,000,000 Trading Commodities 2) How Seasonal Factors Influence Commodity Prices. 3) How to Prosper in the Coming Good Years 4) The Definitive Guide to Trading Commodities, volume 1 5) The Definitive Guide to Trading Commodities, volume 2 6) Long Term Secrets to Short Term Trading 7) Day Trading on Line 8) The Right Stock at the Right Time. His 9th book, The Mount Sinai Myth, based on an archeological search for Mt. Sinai in Saudi Arabia, was later featured in Vanity Fair in a re-write by Howard Blum (2).

Royalties from his books go to a scholarship at the University of Oregon in honor of his College Professor, Max Wales (3).

Williams won the Robbins World Cup Trading Championship trading $10,000 to over $1,100,000 in a 12 month competition with real money. Ten Years later his daughter Michelle won the same contest (4). Later Michelle Williams became an Academy Award Nomination for her role in Broke Back Mountain. (5)
