Flowery Branch High School is a four year public comprehensive high school in Flowery Branch, Georgia. It serves the communities of Flowery Branch, Buford, and Oakwood.
History
In 2007 Flowery Branch was voted Georgia's High School of Excellence. Since 2002, Flowery Branch has excelled in the classroom and in the athletics.
Football
The Falcon football team has had four straight playoff appearances. During the 2009 postseason, Flowery Branch became notable as the "Road Warriors" because as a 3rd seed they traveled over 1000 miles to four different AWAY playoff games and were the victors in all four which earned themselves a berth in the Class AAA state championship. Head Coach Lee Shaw started the program in 2002 and has been at the helm ever since. The first three years were brutal to this new program as they went a combined 3-27. But at the start of the 2005 season, the Falcons never looked back. The first winning season in history was a final (11-2) record and a Top 10 GHSA Class AAA finish. After the next two seasons, 2006 & 2007, Flowery Branch had managed to post a three year regular season record of (27-3) a hefty turnaround from the first few seasons. Two of those losses were to cross-county rival North Hall High School and the third was to sub-region foe Gainesville High School.
