The Pentaho BI Project is Open Source application software for enterprise reporting, analysis, dashboard, data mining, workflow and ETL capabilities for Business Intelligence (BI) needs.[1]

Pentaho uses a subscription-based customer model. The developer community involved in the project comprises around 8,000 members. Pentaho generates revenue via technical support and management services for enterprise customers.

Mondrian

Mondrian OLAP server is an open source OLAP (online analytical processing) server, written in Java. It supports the MDX (multidimensional expressions) query language and the XML for Analysis and Java OLAP Interface specifications. It reads from SQL and other data sources and aggregates data in a memory cache.

Ramsetcube

Ramsetcube is a third party cube designer aimed to help create and build OLAP schemas, manage Data Warehouse metadata and maintain a clear relations model between objects. The models can be exported to XML and the data format is compatible with Pentaho.[2]
