Ulpiano Checa was a Spanish painter, sculptor, poster designer and illustrator. He was born Ulpiano Fernández-Checa y Saiz in Colmenar de Oreja, Spain on April 3, 1860. He died in Dax, France on January 5, 1916. He used both impressionistic and academic techniques, and painted mainly historical subjects.
