Kerry Bishé is an American actress, most well-known for being cast as Lucy, the main character in Season Nine of medical sitcom Scrubs.[1] Bishé also starred as Billie Kashmiri in FOX's one-off sci-fi drama Virtuality, originally intended to be a full series.

Early Life

Bishé was born in New Jersey and attended Northwestern University, the same university as future co-star Zach Braff.[2]

Career

Bishé's first acting job came in 2007, when she portrayed Sarah Ronson in The Half Life of Mason Lake , a low-budget production. After extra appearances on the Sex and the City film and The Lucky Ones, and a small role in 2008's The Understudy, Bishé was cast in Night Life, a TV movie directed by Scrubs star Zach Braff. The production did not make Bishé well-known, but did introduce her to Braff, whom she would later work with on Scrubs.[3]

Bishé then appeared in an episode of the US version of Life on Mars, alongside Harvey Keitel, and an episode of cable TV series Royal Pains in 2009. Bishé then took the chance to play Billie Kashmiri in proposed FOX sci-fi series Virtuality. However, as the series did not receive a full pick-up, the two-hour pilot was aired as a TV movie.

Scrubs

In May 2009, the eighth season of ABC medical sitcom Scrubs came to an end. The season was expected to be the show's last, but shortly after it aired, a ninth season was announced. The ninth season, which aired on 1st December 2009, features a new main cast and setting. Only two of the seven main characters from the series' first eight seasons will remain in season nine, with Zach Braff making six guest appearances. Of the new characters cast was Bishé, who will become the show's new lead character and narrator, taking over from Braff.

This marks Bishé's first main television role and is expected to be her big break. Bishé stars as Lucy, a med student at the fictional Winston University.[4]
