Pronunciation of the name

Whilst the received pronunciation is "Cools-don" (IPA /'ku:lsdən/), many locals pronounce it "Coals-den" (/'kəʊlsdən/).

Erm, no we don't. The received pronounciation is correct as written in IPA, however the more common pronounciation is actually 'Callsdun' (this will read better to people who live around London than anywhere else; I can't work out how to write 'call' in IPA as it's pronounced by 95% of London, hence the note here). --Veratien 10:25, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of St. Andrews Church

Was surprised to see no mention of the local Anglican Church on the article. Have added both a reference and a link at the bottom - hope this is acceptable. And for the record, I say 'Koo-wuls-den'. If that makes sense! :) Tom Black 23:38, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was surprised to find a somewhat incomplete list of the places of worship in Coulsdon, yet with a link to a photograph of one place of worship. I will try to fill out this list with some additional details. Buzwad (talk) 21:05, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

The debate on pronunciation is interesting if dated. The common pronunciation is Cools-den. Long live the ever evolving English Language. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.130.130.105 (talk) 12:42, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Autochthony writes - and the link to LBVCR goes to a British Heart Foundation site. Very Worthy - but not strictly relevant. Could the Wiki-ist who added that take it away, please. 27 June 2009 - 1720z. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.194.33 (talk) 17:20, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Surrey?

In the Times, it says "Coulsdon, Surrey". Is this correct?
