According to legend, Ryksa (Rzepicha, Hilderyka, Brunhilda) was the German consort of Popiel, Prince of Poland. She was a despot who is said to have poisoned many of Popiel's uncles.

Rzepicha (Rzepka) was already mentioned in 12th century Gesta principum Polonorum (English: Deeds of the Princes of the Poles) of Gallus Anonymus, as the wife of Piast, predecessor of the Piast dynasty and the mother of Siemowit. The name Rzepicha is the diminutive form of the Polish word rzepa (English: turnip).[1]
