This mean old world has us coming at each other from all directions. I ask you please, please, to keep the niceties high when you post on this discussion page. We are all we have after all- why make enemies, when we can make friends.

So, in the immortal words of the MC5, "Kick Out the Jams, Motherfuckers!!!"

The Discussion

Biff article. Most of the editors there don't give a shit about Biff one way or the other. But there's a guy who keeps trying to turn the article into some sort of anti-Rose screed. That attracted a bunch of folks who don't like it when someone hijacks a simple article to express their personal views. Why this is still going on is beyond me. Complete waste of time, the article ought to just be protected from editing for a long while. btw, welcome; I used to live not too far from nola. Derex 20:51, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

good to hear from you. well, rose sure pissed this one guy off; a while back he was sticking in (untrue) stuff about rose being busted for molesting children. this other guy editing the article is a good buddy of rose, plays with him. so neither one is likely to give up soon. .... i got a ton of friends down in memphis; i grew up in mississippi. went down there last july, walking around downtown at midnight in bluejeans and a long-sleeve shirt. nearly fainted from heatstroke, seriously. (was called the 'arts-walk' or somesuch, but the booze was free). you get soft living in san francisco, where a hot summer day is 75 degrees (so the warm clothes). when i was a kid, 100 didn't faze me a bit .... oh, well. it's damn nice to have nola nearby when you're a teenager stuck in mississippi and bored as hell. been 20 years now, hard to believe .... see you around, mary. Derex 01:40, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
i see you uploaded a couple pics. you probably ought to leave a note on them explaining what they are. Derex @ 00:40, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A mindboggling weirdo?

Hi Mary, thanks for the note. I know exactly who you are. Greetings. -Sojambi Pinola 04:38, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This post was very susppicious to me, as i've never met the person who posted it. There is no way that this could be so. Mary Hope

I don't understand which of my writings inspired such a lengthy tirade from you on my user talk page. Terribly, terribly, terribly sorry. As I said, as a frequenter of the same two bars in which you worked, I know who you are, and I'd be happy to trade stories some day. We may not agree on the editing of the Biff Rose article, --in fact, we seem to have utterly different experiences of the man, his drinking habits, his belief systems and his social skills and tendencies-- but surely we can find some common ground from our shared associations with Mr. Rose. All my best, Sojambi Pinola 06:48, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see! You were responding to this, on the Biff Rose talk page:
"Mary", what did you find "suspicious" about the word "US" vs. "American"? (Either is fine, and your change seems innocuous; I'm referring to the warning note you tagged to your revision.) What are you "alerting" admins about?
Which was my response to your "editing" comment, found here:
(Suspicious work by wmcw I've alerted other admins to look at this)
I really didn't mean for you to get defensive. After all that writing on my page, I still wonder what you found so suspicious about the admin's actions. A perfectly sensible and neutral question, I believe, given such a provocative statement on your part. I could not figure out what you meant from that comment, and the comment did not seem to connect to the actual edit you made, nor to that admin's (user:Willmcw's) actions. Nor did I find any evidence of actual admin alerts about this particular contributor among your contributions. No major point, just gently curious, as you are implicating someone in it. Feel free to contribute to the discussion on the Biff_Rose page. All my best, Sojambi Pinola 07:20, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

-- This is another suspicious post. how owuld he know which admins I posted to? There are a good deal of them. This seems to mean that perhaps as previously posted, this man thinks I am someone he knows. I am not. He would therefore have looked at some admins familiar to him from another run in on wiki with another editor. That clears that right up. I had posted on my talk page to keep things civil or don't post at all, and though this Sojombi person used language that was not offensive the style of his posts are offensive, and that first post he put on here was sort of threatening, i just don't like the way he is badgering me. Like he wants to intimidate me. That's very white male of him. I wish there was someway for me to do something with the negative energy he's placed on my discussion page, if anyone is reading this please let me know. thanks, Mary Hope 05:14, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Mary," it's easy. I checked your contributions page. Here: contributions. It lists exactly who you posted to, and what about. You had not posted any public notices about that admininstrator, despite your claim. I am not badgering you. You made a provocative, incriminating and insinuating, yet vague, comment about an admininstrator, and I asked a perfectly valid question about your statement. I asked you, in so many words, to back up your insinuation with fact. Such claims ("suspicious work") are important. They can have consequences for their objects. One would hope that anyone who would make such a statement would take the responsibility to back it up with factual examples. Sojambi Pinola 07:19, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote (on my talk page: Hi thanks for the heads up. Just wanted to let you know I'm the writer who wrote the description for AVI on AVICINE. Mary Hope
I see. But the problem is that the page belongs to AVI, or appears to. Unless AVI is willing to relase it under the GFDL, we can't use a direct copy. But since you wrote it for AVI, presumably you could easily re-write it for us, using the same facts and citing proper sources, possibly including your own AVI page. That would be very acceptable indeed. i hope you will choose to do this. If you want my advice or have any quetions, please feel free to drop me a note. DES (talk) 20:05, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: 3RR violations

(copied to User talk:Sojambi Pinola) Thank you for your request. Please review my policy page; reports of 3RR violations should be reported at WP:AN/3RR. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 18:54, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

then why was my page listed as edited 3 times in a row by User:Sojombi Pinola  ? Mary Hope 00:37, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

UTC)

Don't post here if you can't behave. I'm reporting that languiage here you've used as abusive. And yes I have read the revert policyu, as well as followed some of your creative threats regarding others who had followed the same style of revert that I outcried about. So lay off your high horse over here. I'm removing the abusive content because that is uncalled for. Ass.Mary Hope

Other editors comments

I re-added some deleted comments from other editors to your talk page. It really didn't seem like anybody violated the 3-revert rule here. Posting 3 times to an article is not the same as reverting 3 times, which is what the editors were trying to explain to you. It is helpful to leave their comments, because it shows good faith on your part, especially if you are raising serious accusations against them. best, Marcuse 02:53, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And I've removed them as they were abusive. You don't belong here, you don't know me, and oyu and your friends should let a girl go about her edits.Mary Hope
