Carrom Association of Maldives was formed in February 2008 to promote the international sport of carrom in Maldives. The objective of the CAM is to generate a successful carrom community in the Country and to ensure Maldivians participation in all international carrom tournaments and events organised by the Asian Carrom Confederation & International Carrom Federation or other National Carrom Associations/Federations around the world. As of 2008, Ibrahim Shahym is the president of the association.
What the CAM does
- Promote awareness about the game of carrom through media coverage, demonstrations, and other promotional activities.
- Build a network and membership of carrom players, officials, sponsors and fans.
- Host an annual National Championship.
- Organize and promote regional carrom tournaments and events around the world.
- Help start and foster carrom.
- Represent the Maldives at ACF & ICF Board of Management meetings and other international functions.
- Train Maldivian Carrom Team to participate in ICF Tournaments and other competitive carrom activities around the world.
- Publish www.carrom.mv web site to provide global access to a centralized store of carrom information and services.
