Faculty E-mails

I think it looks tacky and confusing lisiting every faculty member along with their e-mail. If no one can make a resonable case for keeping it I'm going to edit it out on Wednesday, July 5th 2006.

I removed them; barring anyone's offering a reason the edit should be reverted, this page still needs a lot of clean-up.

Removed image(s)

Certian images have been removed by me because they have been added to a category that makes them speediable, most likely Category:Images with no copyright tag. Kilo-Lima|(talk) 16:47, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Poughkeepsie Town/City

I'm fairly new to wikipedia, made a few dozen edits and finally decided to make a real account. Since I'm at Marist, this seems like a good item for me to clean up, so I'll take a look at getting some data together with real sources. First thing I notice, however, is that everywhere lists Marist as being in Poughkeepsie, NY, as in the City of Poughkeepsie. Its not. Its very much in the Town of Poughkeepsie, and this can be independantly verified by http://geoaccess.co.dutchess.ny.us/parcelaccess/ . Seems like a large change, is it kosher to make this change? I would say so. Marist isn't in the city. I believe they pride themselves on being in a suburban area. Next time just make the change, especially if you have a cite. then just wait to see if someone discredits your cite.

-Marist is actually in the city borders, but has some kind of paying agreement with the town to claim it is in its borders. This allows it to claim a lower crime rate in its area. (A Marist Alumnus) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.47.208.34 (talk) 14:55, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite of History

I've made a major edit for the "History" section. They're always saying "Be bold" eh? I'm aware sources still need to be cited, and I'll be doing that, but I felt that what I had saved up was better enough to be worth posting, espically considering the previous version didn't cite anything either! Fair use rationale for Image:Marfoxes.gif

Image:Marfoxes.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:12, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use critiria were already specified in the image in question. I've added a header in the exact format described in Wikipedia:Fair_use_rationale_guideline so bots will catch it in the future. Porkrind 15:25, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cites

I've added sources for a bunch of stuff. About half are not considered strong sources, since they originate from the college. If you have others, by all means please use them. I added them since they're better than nothing. Porkrind 04:25, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Local Involvement section

I've added a local involvement section, since its contents never really fit right in "history". Its woefully incomplete. Please add content as you can. Porkrind 05:53, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
