Nicholas Adams Tweed Simmons (born January 22, 1989 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor, musician, and comic book creator.
Early life
Nick is the son of Israeli-born musician Gene Simmons from rock band Kiss and Canadian-born actress/model Shannon Tweed. He has a sister named Sophie, who is three years younger. He currently attends Pitzer College in Claremont, California.[1]
Professional life
Simmons is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and is most notable as part of the cast of the A&E reality television show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.[1][2] He has also performed voiceover work on Cartoon Network's Robot Chicken.[3]
He contributed a story for the comic book anthology Gene Simmons House of Horrors, the first issue of which was released in July 2007. At the San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2009, Radical Comics presented a special preview edition of Nick's own comic book Incarnate from the Simmons Comics Group.[4][5] It was released August 1, 2009.
Accusations of Plagiarism
Fans are voicing concerns that the contents of his comic book series Incarnate were copied from various other sources.[6] Simmons is accused of plagiarizing character designs, fight scenes, plot segments, dialogue, poses and expressions from both professional and amateur artists, specifically from both published manga and from art communities such as DeviantArt.[7]
Possibly copied material includes popular mangas Yu-Gi-Oh!, Bleach, Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, NANA, Dogs: Bullets & Carnage, Deadman Wonderland, One Piece, and online artist Rae.[8]
The author has made no statements addressing this plagiarism at this time. However, VIZ Media, the American publisher of the Bleach manga, is currently looking into the matter and has "a team on it".[9] Kubo Tite, the author of Bleach, has made a tweet acknowledging the plagiarism.[10]
