Template:Infobox Chinese-language singer and actor Deep Ng is a Hong Kong singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. He is the winner of the 21st annual New Talent Singing Awards Hong Kong Regional Finals. He has released 2 EPs, 4 albums, a live album and DVD and a Greatest Hits.

Biography

At the age of 16, Deep Ng Wai-Nam was one of the top 8 finalists in the 1999 New Talent Singing Awards Hong Kong Regional Finals and won the New Energy Award (動力新能量大獎). At age 19, he entered the 2002 New Talent Singing Awards Hong Kong Regional Finals and won first place. He went on to compete in the 2002 New Talent Singing Awards International Finals. He was placed Second Runner-Up and won the Best Stage Presence Award (最佳台風獎). He was then signed to Emperor Entertainment Group, Music Plus.

Deep Ng was a guitar teacher prior entering the singing contest in 2002, he has 6 years of guitar performance experience, and studied Classical guitar. He also plays the piano and drums.

Career

Deep was already well received by the viewers since the New Talent Singing Awards in 2002. His first EP Deep was released in 2003 with the hit debut single "先入為主". This EP was very successful and Deep became a successful new artist. In 2004, he released his second EP Deep In The Music and his fan base continued to grow. His first full-length studio album Deep: Inside was released in 2005. His second album, Nowhere (pronounced as Now-here) was released in September 2005 and his third album Documentary was released in June 2006. In May 2007 he released his 'New and Best Selection' album which contains 3 new songs accompanied with a selection of songs from his previous EP and albums.

In 2008, he released his follow up album entitled "Reality Co. Ltd". This album was a commentary and reflection on the rise of reality stars and television shows.

In 2009 he released "Break It". The album contained ten brand new tracks and an additional 7 live tracks. The leading song "火” (fire) is a Cantonese remake of Terri Walker's "Whoopsie Daisy".

Arrest

In June 2004 Ng was arrested with possession of 1.2 grams of cocaine at Yau Ma Tei Hong Kong. He was fined HK$5000.[1]
