Jayson Stark

Jayson Stark (born July 19, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American sportswriter who mainly covers baseball. He attended Syracuse University, where he got a newspaper journalism degree.

Biography

He now is a senior writer for ESPN.com. He makes weekly appearances on Mike and Mike on Tuesday mornings. He also contributes to Sports Center, ESPN News, and Baseball Tonight. He is currently a resident of a suburb of Philadelphia, and lives with his wife and three children.

Prior to joining ESPN in 2000, Stark covered the Philadelphia Phillies for The Philadelphia Inquirer, and was twice named Pennsylvania's Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

In 2007, Stark wrote his first book called The Stark Truth: The Most Overrated and Underrated Players in Baseball History. His second book, Worth The Wait: Tales of the 2008 Phillies, tells the tale of the 2008 Philadelphia Phillies from the perspective of a Philadelphian.

On April 10, 2009, Jayson was a guest on The Preston and Steve Show on WMMR.[1]
