Nexcite is a non-alcoholic carbonated beverage with a proprietary formulation of herbal extracts and a touch of caffeine.

The product is supposed to augment women's libido and sexual stimulation and typically is marketed with the description "love herbs from Sweden." Its first name was Niagara, in an apparent pun referencing the Viagra erectile dysfunction treatment and the waters of Niagara Falls, but the company was sued by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer for copyright infringement, leading to a name change in 2001 (citation needed). Nexcite was the focus of heavy promotion following the name change, including a discussion of the product in an article in the women's magazine Redbook, in which the author personally tried several products that purported to promote libido or sexual satisfaction in women (citation needed).

The five "supplements"

  • Damiana - A herb derived from the leaves of a Latin American bush. It is said to have stimulating properties on blood circulation thought to give it mood enhancing, anti-depressive and libido enhancing qualities. However, these statements have not been proven.
  • Ginseng - Said to be an aphrodisiac. Has been known for its many positive effects that improve physical and psychological performance.
  • Maté - An increasingly popular herb with medicinal like qualities which aid in relaxation, stress relief and mood improvement as well as powers of concentration.
  • Schizandra - An herbal remedy made from a small red fruit growing in China. Known widely in the Far East for its ability to energize and vitalize the body.
