Mike Dickin, is a much loved (and hated) weekend late-night host on the British radio station talkSPORT.

Starting off as a musician in the 1960s, Mike was a bass player and singer who found he preferred playing records to making them when he joined the BBC in 1970 as the first presenter on air at Radio Oxford.

In 1977, Mike moved to Australia for where he worked for Sydney's biggest radio station, 2UE. When he returned to Britain in the late seventies he spent 17 years working for BBC Radio 4, LBC and Capital Radio.

Mike is infamous for his breathtakingly reactionary rightwing views, which have led to him being labelled “Britain’s Angriest Man”. His shows revolve around him complaining about crime, cars, trains, gypsies, taxes and immigration. Mike considers everything in Britain to be wrong and would like to emigrate. Mike has a strong hatred of the upper classes and the lower classes. He refers to working class people as “Fat, Tattooed Yobbos”, and also hates Royal Ascot despite being a huge fan of Horse racing. Mike is also a big fan of Grand Prix Racing.

Mike still lives in Cornwall, and commutes to London every week.

He is also known for his improbably loud intakes of breath when speaking, and this has raised concerns about his health. Mike’s catchphrase, which he uses less now than he used to, is “My health is not in question”, when asked how he is. He also has a strong dislike of the phrases “Basically” and “At the End of the Day”. Another of his words of wisdom is “if you were speechless you’d be constipated”.
