This is an old revision of this page, as edited by BigMacLover (talk | contribs) at 00:26, 10 April 2010 (I took out a small paragraph that didn't make sence). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Barzan is a town in the Iraqi Kurdistan and is the birthplace of Ahmed Barzani and Kurdish leader Mustafa Barzani. Barzan has a rough, mountainous terrain, and almost impassable. Southward, the Great Zab cuts across west Barzan and passes through Baikhma Canyon to flow into the Tigris River south of Mosul. The Rou Kochek rivulet flows from the north through the midsection of this region where it meets Great Zab near Rezan. Mount Shirin overlooks the village of Barzan; the Botin, Piran, Qalandar, Bradost, Zardana, and Kori Hori mountains are all located within Barzan region.
