Life
The family appears in the Wieck family research for the first time with a Claus Heinrich Wieck (born December 21, 1832 in Petersdorf), he is a merchant in Altona marries and has children. From this family comes Dorothea Wieck.
She made her debut in 1926 in the filmThe Little Inge and her three fathersand appeared in several silent films. It was generally known by the movie Girls in Uniform , she plays the role of Fraulein von Bernburg, a pretty governess, vie for their favor most of the girls. The suppression of the awakening (lesbian) sexuality in an authoritarian and körperfeindlich run boarding school in this film is an impressive symbol of the conservative-military education system of the Weimar Republic. Dorothea Wieck has turned a total of around 50 films. She lived a long time in the artists' colony Berlin. She played on the German Theatre and the Schiller Theater in Berlin and other large theaters. Special roles in:The Great Grid, The Frog Prince, A great idea . She worked also as a director. After the Second World War she played preferably Theater, appeared on the screen only in supporting roles. In the early 1960s she moved almost entirely back from the movie business. In 1973 she received the Film Ribbon in Gold for long and outstanding achievements in German film.
She died on the highway Cemetery in Berlin.
