Earlier today I closed an Mfd (Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Allsterecho talk redirects) that I had voted in. Usually you shouldn't do this, however, the result was "speedy delete" and was carried out by Graeme Bartlett. Obviously, as I am not an admin, I didn't delete it myself. The recently created wikipedia page for XOP Networks was subject to speedy deletion. I justified the existence of the page by saying it was not created for promotion or vandalism. Please let me know if it is safe to begin editing the page under this new user name which more clearly identifies me as an individual, not a company associate. (I am not employed by XOP Networks, nor do I have any intention of promoting their products.) I simply wanted to begin their encyclopedia page so that others may learn about the company's history, founding, and miscellaneous facts. Hello. I recently created a page for the webcomic The World Wasn't Meant. I believe it was deleted for lack of third party links/information which would verify its significance. I have links to various third party articles (reviews, etc) that I was hoping to include, but was unsure where to include them. I am new to editing Wikipedia. Is there some way to include these third party links, even if you are not specifically mentioning them in the body of the article? Perhaps they go in the reference section?

Hi,
Sorry to be a bother but I just created a page for a person in the media, Alex Hooper-Hodson and it was instantly deleted. I can provide the appropriate online references i.e. links to major newspapers sites and articles written by him to verify he falls into the category of a notable person. Other family members of his are on Wikipedia and he has a very similar career with appropriately important instances that can be referenced. I am not writing this entry due to knowing him or any other reason but just I heard he's finally stopped working at my favourite magazine and thought he deserved a Wikipedia entry for all his good work at my favourite magazine.
Can you advise how I should proceed?

Deletion of Buff Monster page
Hello. I am hoping you can explain to me why the page I began on the artist, Buff Monster, was immediately deleted. While I am aware that the article needed further citations, I would think a simple Google search on the artist's name and the list I included of his solo shows would at least position him for notability contemplation. There was no "contentious" or negative material, nor was the article written non-neutrally, so the complete deletion seems needlessly harsh. By Wikipedia's own policy (quoted below), time was not even allowed for users to contribute content to attempt to attain the acceptable standards (I'm guessing this includes further content and further citations).
As you can see, this is my first Wikipedia entry. There are a few other notable artists working in the field of toy art for whom I would like to contribute Wikipedia entries. My assumption--perhaps incorrect--was that other Wikipedia users or admins would see the couple coding/citation errors in this first entry and pitch in with correct tagging. Again, another assumption was that the page on Buff Monster would grow with information submitted by other Wikipedia users, but it "had to start somewhere."
I am not Buff Monster, nor have I actually ever physically met Buff Monster. I am just a fan and journalist of this genre of art. I'm hoping to recover the text I began on Buff Monster and start to contribute more. But how does complete deletion explain what I did wrong, and help me not make the same mistakes (and more work for you) in future article submissions?

Biographical material about a living individual that is not compliant with this policy should be improved and rectified; if this is not possible, then it should be removed. If the entire page is substantially of poor quality, primarily containing contentious material that is unsourced or poorly sourced, then it may be necessary to delete the entire page as an initial step, followed by discussion.
Page deletion is normally a last resort. You are probably aware the page was a hoax made by the creators of the show How I Met Your Mother and although the image was deleted because permission was unknown perhaps the person who posted it can be asked to clarify since they must be connected with the show. Perhaps this is an opportunity to get a good fair use (or even better Creative Commons) image of Barney Stinson that can be used rather than an screenshot from an episode. Can the image still be retrieved and the user account that posted it be asked for further details? Since the image was deleted I see only your username and the deletion notice and I don't know if it is possible to go back and ask the user, perhaps you know?

How can I change the article I submitted "Scream Country Haunted Forest" to be accepted
I submitted an article about Scream Country Haunted Forest about 15 min ago and from the time I submitted it until you deleted it was about 8 min. This event began 13 yrs ago as a fundraiser for area students. I worked with students to try to keep it simple and provide what we 'thought' would be acceptable 3rd party reference. We looked at other Halloween events like Howl O Scream in Florida to understand how to submit an educational article but not be promotional. Can you help me find a guide to where I can learn how to make this article important enough to be submitted without deletion? Thanks for your help. PMDrive1061, I rewrote the article "Scream Country Haunted Forest", added more content, and cited a reference that shows this is a notable event statewide that helps educate visitors statewide about Oklahoma's new AgriTourism program. The reference used is a printed brochure compiled by Oklahoma AgriTourism and Travel OK that can be ordered by mail, picked up at Oklahoma Travel Centers and also viewed online. Deletion of page NightDragon

I'm trying to create a wiki page bit by bit for an independent feature film that is shortly to be released on DVD in the US and UK, and you deleted it while I was adding the sections. I'd like to understand what I did wrong, as it seems that a feature film being released is a credible item to have an article about, is it not? If you agree, any chance of restoring it?

Need help and advice
Got a major question involving sockpuppetry, and believe it or not it doesn't involve everyone's favorite vandal. Back in 2008, an editor, Miamiboyzinhere, started picking a fight with the Orlando attraction editors. He claimed that the category tags and descriptions of attractions were wrong if they mentioned being in Orlando but were not physically within the city limits. After a fair amount of blunderbussing and rude edit summaries and generally uncivil behavior, he got blocked and then began socking to keep the argument going. After a while, he got bored and quit.
At the time, I found evidence that could suggest that the puppeteer was itself a bad-hand sock to another user. In the edit linked here, and in a series of edits around this one in the history, Miamiboyzinhere is fighting to include a picture credited to a Marc Averette, who also happens to be a registered user here. Again, in the edit history, you'll see Averette making edits as if nothing had happened earlier. Well, move back to present day. Averette has started playing around with the Orlando categories again, and is leaving similarly-worded responses to notices left by other editors.
Here's the question: I think it's pretty apparent that Averette has engaged in sockpuppetry, but is there a statute of limitations on such things? He's on the verge of becoming disruptive in the Orlando articles, and I'm really not sure what to do, so I'm asking your advice as an admin I have dealt with on numerous occasions, and don't expect you to enter the fray unless you feel an absolute need to. Other admins, including Jayron32, have been involved in this editor's history before.

We got an email at unblock-en-l from the individual behind the account; it appears that it is the person who they were writing articles about self-promoting himself. AGF that they are who they say they are, there are a lot of problems with their edits but they need a chance to have it all explained to them. Can you engage on their talk page and work out the specifics a bit? They sound very vocal but contrite, and may be able to provide sources for the stuff they did once it's explained to them clearly enough.
