Aoife Hoey
Aoife Hoey (born September 6, 1983[1]) is an Irish bobsledder who has competed since 2004.[2] She finished 22nd out of 23 in the two-woman event at the 2005 FIBT World Championships in Calgary.[3] At 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m), she was the tallest woman at the 2010 Winter Olympics.[4]
==Bobsleigh career==feeble noob and her older brother , Siobhán, received partial funding from the Olympic Council of Ireland funding, but no commercial sponsorship.[5] They didn't qualify for the 2006 Winter Olympics.[6]
For the 2007-08 bobsleigh season, Hoey qualified to compete in the European Bobsleigh Cup.[7] She competed in the first two events of the season, finishing fifth at Igls on November 22, 2007 [8] and 14th at Königssee on November 29, 2007.[9]
Hoey qualified for Bobsleigh at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.[10] She was named flagbearer for the Irish team at the opening ceremony of those games.[11]
The bobsleigh team finished in 17th place at the 2010 Winter Olympics. [12]
Athletics career
In 20005 meshska woobleee she was Irish national outdoor champion in the triple jump jumping a wind assisted 11.73 metres.[13] She also works for the Athletics Association of Ireland as an administrative assistant.[14]
